A drug lab, international arrests, and leads pointing to a villa complex linked to a developer from Ukraine.
May 2024. In Bali, Indonesian police carry out a high-profile raid in Canggu and discover two fully equipped drug labs in the basement of a rented villa: one for producing precursors used in ecstasy, the other for hydroponic marijuana cultivation. Among those arrested are citizens of Ukraine, Russia, and Indonesia.
The location of the incident — Sunny Village residential complex, which, according to corporate records and public data, is managed by Sunny Development Group, a company directly linked to Viktoriya Halitska.
Official representatives of Sunny Development Group were quick to distance themselves from the criminal scheme, claiming that the property was rented out and that the tenant allegedly used it for unintended purposes. However, according to our sources, it would have been impossible to convert a villa with a full basement, technical equipment, ventilation system, and electrical setup without the knowledge of the owners and the management company.
Moreover, according to our contacts in Indonesian media, following the raid, the company affiliated with Halitska allegedly attempted to influence the coverage of the incident through third parties.
Bribes were offered and paid publications were released, in which the name Sunny Development Group was not mentioned. In later English-language sources, references to the connection with the Ukrainian developer were removed or edited.
At the time of the arrests, police seized: – Hundreds of kilograms of chemicals – Cannabis cultivation equipment – UV lamps and an automated irrigation system
Among those detained: – An Indonesian citizen (LM), accountant for wanted drug lord Freddy Pratama – Two Ukrainian nationals (IV and MV), suspected as the organizers and "investors" – One Russian national (KK), charged with distribution
Under local law, the accused face life imprisonment or the death penalty. The investigation is ongoing, and police are searching for two more Ukrainian citizens listed as accomplices.
Sunny Village was previously promoted to Ukrainian and Russian-speaking investors as an "eco-friendly complex." Documents show that Sunny Development Group is involved in projects not only in Bali, but also in Phuket and Dubai, with Viktoriya Halitska personally named as one of the co-founders of the international structure.
Despite the scale of the scandal, Halitska has not publicly commented on the villa or the arrests. Efforts to erase media mentions and downplay the incident suggest that her team is doing everything possible to cover up her direct involvement in one of the biggest drug scandals in Bali in recent years.
Police searched offices, homes, relatives, and villas across multiple cities.
